YBN Titanium

YBN chains are outstandingly low friction and that is what we are all about here. In fact they are the lowest friction chain we know of tested by Friction Facts at 4.75w as standard (MSW had tested at  Friction Facts – refer MSW website).  On top of that they are the worlds lightest chain, have flawless shifting, are super strong and durable, and highly corrosion resistant.

11 Speed

YBN has created the lightest and most technically advanced 11 speed chain in the world, period. Weighing a scant 226 grams for 116 links courtesy of 6.4 titanium (Dura Ace 11spd = 251 grams, KMC superlight = 237 grams), hollow pins and laser cutouts, the SLA211 is extremely durable with a service life up to 8,000 kilometers (oils) and 15,000km (wax). Add YBN’s Ni-PTFE coating to reduce friction and chamfered plates for precise shifting and it’s understandable why this chain has won multiple UCI elite world championships.

Compatible with Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo 11 speed drivetrains; suitable for everyday use as well as racing; includes 2 complete QRS master links (each five times reusable) and 2 traditional connecting pins

**A note from ZFC – In general titanium chains should be the reserve of spare no expense weight weenie builds or again – spare no expense racers who already have a dedicated training chain and looking for the lightest dedicated race chain, or simply those wanting to pimp out a special bike with the most lux chain on the market.  For most  however from a value per $ perspective you will be much better served purchasing two normal chains to run on rotation or to use one as a dedicated training chain and one as a dedicated race chain etc, vs one titanium chain. They are a lovely chain, and a special chain – the only of its type in the world – but please weigh up (pun intended) the extra cost of a little bit of weight savings vs the benefits of two chains for similar cost.  

12 Speed

Using a patented roller hardening process, YBN is the only manufacturer to successfully incorporate titanium into their chain construction. Weighing a scant 230g for 126 links (Shimano M9100 – 269 grams for 126l), the SLA212 is as strong as it is light and can be used every day. Treated with Ti-Nitride for durability and Ni-PTFE for efficiency and longevity, the SLA212 is compatible with any 12sp drivetrain except SRAM T-type. Add precisely chamfered plates for shifting and perfectly mushroomed hollow pins and you have the pinnacle of chain design.

Compatible with Shimano 12spd, Sram Axs Eagle (NOT T-Type), and Campagnolo 12spd. Not Sram Axs road compatible – for a fast chain upgrade for any of sram Flat top systems (road / T-Type) pls see YBN Mk12 chains – the fastest known flat top chains.
